The Triumph Of Fuzzy Thinking Poem by Paul Hartal

The Triumph Of Fuzzy Thinking

Fire differs from ice, right?
Things are either true or false, as Aristotle himself said.

But wait a minute...
For, are not vapor and ice just different phases of water?
Or is not a hill just a low mountain
and, vice versa, a mountain a high hill?

Well, life and reality are certainly bigger
than the realm of binary logic, a main pillar
in the traditional foundation of science.

But now, it turns out that pathfinding designers
abandon old canned ideas and cast their eyes on new horizons.
They apply fuzzy thinking to a variety of creative projects.
And they already have succeeded in developing an assembly
of smart products involving intelligent machines.

Companies in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan produce,
for example, fuzzy air conditioners
that constantly adjust to changing room temperatures.
Other novel products include fuzzy computers
that can recognize and translate hand written characters.
