The Truth Poem by Vered Maizlin

The Truth

I have a secret
I have to tell you the truth
The secret is that I hate you

‘Cause of all the baggage
And drama you put me through
I didn't need it and you knew

I was there when you needed to cry
Even though your mouth spat out
Lie after lie

But when I called out for you
You disappeared, gone
Making me feel like I did something wrong

Can't believe that I was drawn
Into your game of chess
Where you were the player and I was the pawn
