The Truth Behind My Eyes Poem by Aimee Rozen

The stars above are shining
upon my smiling face.
You are holding me so tightly
I can hear your heartbeat race.
You whisper in my ear
that nothing can go wrong,
then walk over to the stereo
and turn up our song.
You gently press your lips to mine
and tell me that you love me.
I say 'I love you too, '
but I doubt that you can see
how much I truly care for you.
The truth is behind my eyes.
If you really search for it
you will see past all the lies;
all the lies I tell everyone else.
But others do not matter.
It's you I'll always love.
Even if I die first
I'll watch you from above.
I want to love you forever
I want to be your wife.
I want to love you forever
I want it to be 'our' life.
That's what you'd see
if you looked into my eyes.
You would see the truth
past all the lies.
