Truth, a double-edged sword, cuts deep
Separating truth from lies
It sears like fire, it cuts like a knife
A bitter pill, a hard truth to life
It strips away illusions, it shatters the dream
Leaving only shards, a heart that screams
Once revealed
Truth erased one from existence
Feeling like a ghost on earth
Feeling like a shadow of former self
The truth, a six-inch nail, pierced the soul
Pinned down by the weight of reality
Truth slaps hard, but it's intimate wake-up call
A little sting to see straight.
But in the pain, there's a strange reprieve
A chance to rebuild, to rise and to believe
In the ashes of what's lost, a new dawn will rise
And though truth hurts, it opens weary eyes.
