The Twisted Cord Poem by Gary Griffith Sr.

The Twisted Cord

Rating: 5.0

There’s a delicate balance between life and death
Between good and evil
Without the guidance from God
We wined up with a myriad of problems
Total chaos
Destroying the very heart of man
With lies and deceptions he comes in a crowd
Like many strands and fibers braided together
The twisted cord

Twisted and painful
We endure the memories
Pain so deep
We dare not mention
So we push them deep
Trying to escape what haunts
While we live what has become our normality
The twisted cord

Only through Jesus Christ Can we be freed from the beast within us
He alone can break the bonds
The bonds of the twisted cord
Bringing us to a climatic point
The crescendo
When the chord of understanding has been struck
By the renewing of our minds
Through Christ Jesus!
