The Violet Speaks Poem by John Bannister Tabb

The Violet Speaks

Think not yon star,
New-found afar,
Love's latest sign;
Nor fondly dream
No fresher beam
Doth on thee shine:
A newer light,
From longer night
Of years, is mine.
