The Violin Poem by Trevoh Wabwire

The Violin

I am a violin, strung too tight
Each cord stretched thin, ready to snap
My polished wood exterior grand and bright
But inside I ache, fragments to spill out
So play me with care, with patience and calm
Each stroke and note resonates through my fragile form
Sound me out slow, don't strain my weakened voice
Let melodies flow, but give me a choice
At times I must rest, my strings loosened and slack
Tuning and change I cannot always take
But know I was made for concerts and joy
Just hold me with care, like a delicate toy
For with time and with care, my song you will wake
And my true music then I can make
