The Voice Poem by Randy Briggs

The Voice

The absence of
light in this
dark room is
hurting my eyes.

My ears pick
up the sound
of children's
cries.

My mind alerts
me of all these people's
lies.

I try
try
try.

Oh why
why
why.

Must it be
like this?

Will it end
like this?
