The Vortex Of Separation Poem by Ayoub Agah

The Vortex Of Separation

Sleep eludes my weary eyes tonight,
My heart, like restless waves, takes flight tonight.

Upon my soul, I drew your face so fair,
Yet slumber grants me not its grace tonight.

The flood of tears has set my heart adrift,
From sorrow's cup, I drink my fill tonight.

What shall I say of grief, O love so dear?
In passion's fire, I drown in pain tonight.

With head upon my knee, I dream your gaze,
Beneath the moon's soft silver light tonight.

A night so cold, a rosebud closed in grief,
A fish ensnared upon the line tonight.

Upon the waves of sorrow floats my heart,
A captive soul within the whirl tonight.

No haven do I find for peace or rest,
My tears have formed a raging tide tonight.

Oh, let me not be lost from your kind gaze,
Come grant my heart a moment bright tonight.

If you were near, how sweet my dreams would be,
Within your arms, embraced by light tonight.

But woe! Afar from your bewitching eyes,
No peace shall come, no sleep in sight tonight.
