The Wail Poem by Pradip Saikia

The Wail

Do you recognise me
I am the doll
The stillness of the rock
Charred dreams
An urnful of ashes

Have you ever heard

Wail of the night
With short breathes

Of a fairy
Wings chopped off

The forest though silent

Look how
In the shadow of the burnt tree
My lips are quivering
