The Waking



O sir! O sir!
Here has come
Come, another 15th of August,
To mark the waking
At a stroke of midnight,
When the world slept
And destiny came
To honour an agreement.

O sir! O ma'am!
Many annivarsaries have passed
Letting not a bygone era
Stay forever faded.
And refreshing the memories
Of pain, of gain,
Here has come
Come, another 15th of August.

O ma'am! O sir!
There is but a question
Of why this inertia of sleep
Hits at us with might
And illusions take over
Over, the realm of thought!
Reasons I seek, when
Here has come
Come, another...
