'The Waking Of Yesterday' Poem by Sallie Marie Tompkins

'The Waking Of Yesterday'

The aroma of the wind draws me to think, of how the ocean's waves rush peace into the air into an atmosphere with emotional clouds.
The scent of elegance in your conversation sparks feelings of purity.
If I were on trial; I would choose you to be my jury.
The verdict would be guilty for love;
addicted to God above.
I count the times of yesterday and awake them thinking of your powerful presence embracing my face.
Leaves unfold my heart of patience,
waiting on the outcome of our dedication and committment.
Your statue, bold, tough, just like cement.
When you come around, order comes into my life;
I will even pay extra rent.
Your kindness gets better by the cent.
I have just had another impression of waking up yesterday.
What a wondeful day, just thinking of you.
