The Wall Poem by Arben Imeri

The Wall

Hello my friend
Been a long time we didn't hug,
Come and join me on this worn rug

Talk to me my friend
Share the pain you bare
Let us see what's hurting you, we'll pick it up from there

Cry with me my friend
Let the rain play with our tears
Our faces are worn, but still hide our fears

Walk with me my friend,
Walk with me…
The days will run out anyway
Not many left, and those will fly away

Have no regrets my friend,
No regrets at all…
Look at this wall it witnessed so much cry
It knows so much, yet still wonders why

It has seen more than I care to remember
It has heard more than I dare to recall
And it is still there for me,
My personal crying wall

Now go on my friend,
It is time for you to move on
I'll be here for you whenever you need someone

Don't worry about me my friend,
I'll have it my own way
I'll be fine as I know that my wall has decided to stay
