At first I thought he was a dandy, self-involved with mocking grace.
My stomach churned. I felt disgusted. studying his smug bold face.
It did not help that he was handsome and not so polished or over groomed.
There in his eyes so cool and casual he surveyed the ladies that swooned.
Each one in turn exposed her heart strings if only with a second glance.
What followed became a quiet chaos, of naked lust and not romance.
Twas here I lost my dear beloved. Like smoke before a wind swept day.
The night he filled the hall to bursting and then he simply went away.
Yet you see he was no dandy. No maiden caught his eye that night.
For she was all that he was seeking. His lovely one, nowhere in sight.

Eyes seeks what heart desires, well penned
There is a song-I only have eyes for you. For this lucky soul the entire world is seen more clearly because he or she is more alive and yet no other person except the beloved has any power to allure. That is magic and most prized and cherished.
