In this unholy
War I’m torn
Between two sides
Pulling me apart
Splitting me down
The middle
And it hurts so badly
I can hear your voice
So far away
Your image lingers
Directly in front
Of me. I push you
Away but I need you
So close.
Breaking under
The surface
I’m doing my best
To piece together
The shattered edges.
I thought it was working
But apparently
I’m deep.
Deeper than I thought
I was.
