The Warmth Poem by Night Angel

The Warmth

Rating: 4.5

The flames as they crackle and flicker
Beckon me to join them in eternal warmth
As I stare into the flaming abyss
I become curious
Why do they act so warm and inviting
When they just burn and scar
Yet we continue to play with them
They steal the warmth that keeps me alive
I long to feel that warmth again
Even knowing its reprocussions
To feel it all around me, in me
If only that was possible
But no I feel the cold
My blood has frozen
My heart, an icescle
Waiting for someone
Someone with the right touch
Someone that can warm me again
Satisfy me in unimaginable ways
Someone who can melt my heart
And warm the blood that runs through my veins
That is the someone I want
The one I need and crave
But until I find them
I am lost
Looking, Searching
But never finding
So I wait
And will continue to wait
Til the day I completely freeze over
