The Waters In Jerusalem Poem by Guy Shaked

The Waters In Jerusalem

Freezing, the waters are freezing,
In Jerusalem,
The people are freezing-cold too.
Better than having a cold,
for then they are freezing-cold with high fever.
Like the stone houses covered with mildew,
So are they covered with mucus.
Covered and fastened,
Buttons and coats.
Watching the ravens,
Who look back to the white of the eye.
And calling 'crow-crow',
In a freezing-cold voice.
