The Waves Poem by Kakoli Choudhury

The Waves

The waves within me,
Whops the shore of my soul,
The pen falls apart.
I try to collect the bits
Some are gleaned by time,
Few stolen by the moment.
Others fade into the mortal breath.
I beg, i sue, i cry and sob,
I let my green woes flow.
Yet the waves won't budge,
Hitting the shore of my mind,
The words fall apart.
And scatters on the palate
I try to voice the words
And fill my breath in them.
Scanning the corners in me,
I fount my burning spirit
Just below my pounding heart.
I shield it from the waves
And let it burn until eruption.
To soak my burdened mind
In the fire of my thirsty spirit,
To create new strings of passions.
The waves within me,
Might hit the shore again,
And then i won't budge,
For i may be a moribund,
But my passionate words are immortal.
