The Weight Of The Cloud Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

The Weight Of The Cloud

The world is changing, fast and wide,
A digital rush is deep inside.
With AI learning day and night,
And phones that glow with magic light,
We need huge brains of steel and wire,
To feed the modern world's desire.

The tech tools think, the movies stream,
The cloud is running every dream.
Banks and offices online,
Keep the busy world in line.
Governments want their data near,
Like oil and steel, to hold most dear.

Towns welcome builders with a smile,
For taxes built upon the pile.
And strict new laws demand that we,
Keep local secrets close and free.

Yet giant servers, row on row,
Need rivers cool and power to glow.
They strain the grids, they drain the lakes,
For every digital step it takes.
