The Wick's Burnt Down Poem by Rhianna Hayden

The Wick's Burnt Down

She shuts the door and hooks the chain,
to ensure that no-one sees her pain.
Once alone she lets it go
only alone so no one knows.
She hides it all behind a smile,
happiness is on a distant isle.

But after time that smile gets weak,
the pain inside begins to leak.
It gets too much for her to handle,
her strength burns down just like a candle

And all that pain builds up to make
her feel the need, her life to take.
