The Wind Tapped Down On My Shoulder Poem by The Wind

The Wind Tapped Down On My Shoulder

The wind tapped down on my shoulder,
the city flourished like a roaring stream,
the clouds parted onto the sun-crested leaves.

Once upon a time,
the opening of the Earth,
the little boy unraveled his candy.

Under the sea,
I bustled about like he,
a leaf in the wind traveled a thousand miles.

When the mirror shattered,
my reflection broke,
and the wind tapped down on my shoulder once again.

By the rim of my cap,
the author's pen out of ink,
the soldier collapsed onto the beach.

After I had left,
we parted again,
the wind tapped down on my shoulder for the very last time.
