at dawn
we talk about what we
have become
we inspire
each other to the idea
that we have not
rooted like them
they have amassed
much as we have given
they have fortified their
walls and locked their gates
and we are outside
all these houses
uphill we sit together under
the rain
as we see with comfort all the
big waves coming
all set to erase them.
