The Wolf And Little Red Poem by chris schwartz

The Wolf And Little Red

Sometimes, salvation comes too late
And the damage is done
But, Lord, we sure had fun
Watching the sun set
Too damned fast.
Sure loved
Watching it go down
With you.

As my breath takes me away
So very far into the night
Glad I took my last breath
With you.
As I close my eyes
For the very last time
You brought me into the light
And you saved me
From the darkness
Only my soul knew.
I know you loved
Your Little Red.
The tears I shed
Now, are only for you.
The stars will still twinkle
For Little Red,
And when you look
To the sky,
Know that time will go by
And my heavenly arm
Will reach out,
Just to guide you.
You'll make your way
Better not be for awhile
But I'll reach down
Just to help you
Find the light
You always searched for
Just to save us.
I so hate to leave you alone,
But you are not ready yet.
This chapter in my book
I read, over and over again.
Like time should stand still.
The Weary battle cries
Of the lone wolf
And Little red.
