The Woman I Used To Be Poem by Dustie Lynn Boxx

The Woman I Used To Be

What happened to me? Where is the woman she used to be? She don't know whether to laugh, cry, scream, or pray. A little piece of her dies each day.

What happened to me? She no longer has her own dreams. She can no longer see the shapes in the clouds or the dreams in the stars. Her thoughts are crushed without remorse.

What happened to me? Her heart hurts daily for what she truly longs for. Her hearts desire is what the future holds.

What happened to me? Will I find the woman I used to be? Will I become what I am destined to be?

What happened to me? The winds of change are sure to come. Sadly, I'm already numb.

What happened to me?
