The woodpeckers
That I saw
In the backyard of my house
Just in the garden
Stroking me
With their colours and red helms
And the body blackly-striped,
Strangely-printed
The woodpeckers
I saw them sprinting,
Taking short flights,
Ever ready to peck into
To hole in
Like a carpenter.
