The Words Of An Unspoken Moon. Poem by david daniel

The Words Of An Unspoken Moon.

Queen of queens,
Empress of our system
I am the proudest
To be at your service

Mother of mothers
Hearth of all life
Sanctuary of wisdom herself
Sanctuary of folly as well

I have guarded you
For the thousand years gone
And I will not leave you
For the thousand years to come

My marks were made
While I was protecting you
It carries no pain but joy
Because that's how much I love you

Lay your eyes upon my scars
See my loyalty to you
If you still do not trust me
I will accept any trial from you

Judge me thoroughly
And see if I falter
If I do, then
I have no right to be by your altar

However, I feel sorry now
For with sad eyes I look upon you
I see an ungrateful atmosphere
Eroding the world through and through

Inside out
It's all the same
The beauty that was there
Refuses to remain

And I cannot stand it,
To look at you like this.
All that I'm bearing is pain.
I am no more at ease.

See me cover my face,
Night by night, something more is hidden.
I grow darker as each moment passes
Like a piece of me is broken

I may not be able to protect you anymore
Because like you, I too am loosing my strength
If you grow strong again, then so can I
Since the power I gain is the power you lend

Few days ago, I came closest in 2 decades
I wanted to see if what you were holding was worth it
Carrying the burden of taking care of life,
Even that has a limit to it

Love and all still exist
But decadence rules with an advantage
I see the world and it's no more the same
Welcome, to the era of the Decaying Age.
