The Words That Never Came Poem by ashok jadhav

The Words That Never Came

I feel it in the silence of your gaze,
A warmth that stirs where reason should command.
I speak in ordinary, careful tones,
Yet every glance betrays the thought I guard.
The heart rehearses phrases never said,
And lingers on the edges of your day.
No letter, no confession marks its weight;
It grows between us, patient and unseen.
I watch you laugh, I watch you turn away,
And wonder if you sense the hidden flame.
The world continues, indifferent as ever,
While I remain a prisoner of my own desire.
Perhaps the truth of love is this restraint:
To carry what is never named, yet known.
