The World As It Collapses Poem by Cassandra Hooper

The World As It Collapses

I am the blackest soul
I am the deepest sea
I'm the poison coursing through my veins
That'll be the end of me
I reside in my minds eye
Yet see no truth in a world of lies
Breaking through the thickest veils
To shed my skin and see through new eyes
I am the consequence
To your lack of rest
I'm everything you used to be
But I'm what used to be best
I've broken down your thoughts
Taken over your reality
Stolen all you ever thought you were
And changed your personality
Existance is suffering
Light is fleaing the world it built
Darkness is overrunning the scene
As all the flowers wilt
I've watched the world now dissappear
As everything turns gray
I am your bittersweet apocalypse
That you live through everyday
