THE WORLD I LIVE IN
This is the world I live in,
Inflation, Poverty, Unemployment prevail.
Some so rich, so rich-
To rule the world;
Some so poor, so poor-
No land to live.
How unbalanced my bleeding world!
The world I live in!
This is the world I live in,
Resources hardly enough-
In this strive for development.
There are alternative uses,
But which are the best of limited?
What those rare combinations,
To cure and to balance this world?
The world I live in!
This is the world I live in,
Bombardments, Destructions galore.
Transfer payments reach my nation, true!
But where have they gone?
They haven’t reached the hands of the needy,
The ones to get this very help.
Oh! How sad to devour, this-
The world I live in!
This is the world I live in,
Oh Lord, we need Your Blessings,
Please shower on us, Your Grace
To fill this world with peace.
We need you, Oh Lord!
Especially the stricken
For they too are part of this world-
The world I live in!
