"By the book" says the well heeled crooks
shielded in cuff-links and county clubs
tailoring laws to keep their friends off the hook
and leeching out dry the rest of us plebs
"the law is the law" says wolves with the claws
cleaning their badges on their bloody blue shirts
to protect and to serve fresh meat for their jaws
the poor and the desperate are their favorite deserts
You work like a dog to be treated like a rat
spending more to be treated with less
your drowning is now just another stat
the middle class life has been repossessed
The American dream was a Ponzi scheme
swindlers on Wall Street sold snake skin gold
we sold equity down avarice's stream
and what trickles down is hot air and cold
The rules of the game are never the same
For the king, the bishop or the pauper pawn
Justice is nothing but another rigged game
And heroes never get to see the next dawn
So the poor get poor the rich get richer
and the futures become the next feudal age
where is the promise things would be better
when psychopaths lead this worlds burning stage

A very incisive and powerful poem depicting the very ills of society. I can understand your strong sentiments.
