The Worthless Shell Poem by Obi Yindal

The Worthless Shell

As you look at it
And inspect it from various angles
As one would a diamond,
You see a shell, a plain
Like one from many others.

You raise it up and stand in position
Ready to launch it into the waters.

It’s alright you reason,
Many more in the riverside,
Many more shells
Of great value and precious.

So you released it with great ease of mind,
And watch its’ startling, strange magical ripple.

With a sense of relief
You turn, off and away,
To find the most precious shell.
