The Wrong Kind Of Girl Poem by Jay Harris

The Wrong Kind Of Girl

Rating: 4.8

To quench my lust
Leaves me empty
A void I cannot fill
Without the un-named you

Do you exist?
It seems not that way
The hollow may reign
And leave me cold and blackened

Efforts not allowed to blossom
Unwanted product of my own fragile thoughts
What is the constant?
Why mustn’t I find you?

I want to give away my soul
Not just how I can make you feel
Your self-indulgance empties me
Suffocates and makes me ill

The skin is short-lived
And yours wont keep smooth
Lonely and old could be your fate
To your confidence you try to prove

Though, bitter Im not
You do what you do
You gave me release
Although short-lived and untrue

I will keep up my search
Its all I can do
However painful the journey is you are there and will be for me
I just have to keep looking and find you
