The You In You Poem by Harrison DickAbbey

The You In You

Take a journey with yourself
To a place where no one else exist but you
To that place where you are king of your own world
And no one makes the rules for you
Where you call the shots, where no one else shares the fame and blames
That place where all the glory and responsibility that comes with it is yours only to shoulder
Now step out of yourself for just a little while
And take a firm sincere look at you
See the you that you‘ve made out of you
Are you really the you that you‘ve always wanted to be?
Or are you lost somewhere in the struggle of identity
Being a you that was never and will never be you
Adjusting to fit into a world of multiple personalities
Instead of creating a world of your own where you could have found it much easier being the you you‘ve always wanted to be
Cos until you are able to define and find that uniqueness in you that stands you out from the rest of the world
You can never really be the you that you‘ve always wanted to be
