Thee Tree Poem by Christian Hudak

Thee Tree

Rating: 3.5

I lay atop a grassy hillside
Not under, but beside a beautiful oak
Only so the sun can still reach my face
Sunshine pierces my wavering eyes
So I shut them
Inhale passionately
With every breath my heart sinks in my chest
How can such a stunning view give way to such cold memories?

Great poem! Love the buildup as a sweet and beautiful write and then that stinging zinger of a last line! Brilliant!
