Theft By Homophone Poem by S.A. Blair

Theft By Homophone

Rating: 5.0

If I stole a diamond, it would be from a suit
And if I stole a silver dollar, I’d probably pull it from the root

If I stole money, it would be the spider
And if I stole a candle, I couldn’t hold it beside her

If I stole tenner, he wouldn’t sing a note
If I stole a punt, it probably wouldn’t float

If I robbed a bank, it would be by a stream
If I stole the moon for you, it would only be a beam

If I stole you gold, even twenty-four carat
It would be the type, eaten by a rabbit

Oh if I could steal anything, I know where I’d start
Yeah if I could steal anything, I steal your heart
