Their Last Goodbye Poem by Louie Thompson

Their Last Goodbye

Rating: 5.0

More tired than ever,
he can barely even speak.
He moves around,
so slow and weak.

Gentle gestures
here and there.
His pain is so bad
it's hard to bare.

Lying in bed,
with family all around.
He knows now,
that he is heaven bound.

Uncomfortable lying
in an unknown place.
He can feel his weak heart,
slowly begin to race.

He looks down
to where his wedding ring lies.
As he thinks
to all the good times.

Time passes by
so slowly now.
He can only believe death to be,
his last and final bow.

His wife is there,
standing at his side
knowing that this
won't be their last goodbye.

She leans over
to give him a kiss
and he whispers in her ear,
''When you were there, it was nothing but bliss.'
