Then Poem by Joe Fraccalvieri

Then

Nothing lasts forever…
Not now… Not then…
Not ever-- except forever…
Unless it's like the hen
which lays the golden egg
that hatches
another hen
and then again
creates rooster and hen
over and over--
again-- and again
Until somewhere in time
an egg is produced
creating women and men

And over and over--
Not if, but when…
Forever exists

Again…
And again
