Then My Turn Came Poem by Bamisaye Adeniran

Then My Turn Came

She did it first
All to my surprise
She lifted me
In the spirit of celebration.

No one gave her the chance
Yet she did
What a man would do
I guess, with ease.

All I could do
Was to wait for my turn
To carry her like a baby
Then my turn came.
