Theodora Poem by Paul the Silentiary

Theodora

Scarcely has the pencil
Portrayed the girl's eyes,
But not at all of her hair nor
The supreme lustre of her skin.
If any can paint the sheen of the sun,
He will paint the sheen of Theodora.
