There Are Already/ Too Many Dead Poem by Shalom Freedman

There Are Already/ Too Many Dead

THERE ARE ALREADY/ TOO MANY DEAD

There are already
Too many dead-
Too many people to miss-
I can’t stand the thought
That there will be more
But there will be more.

An old man lives-
But his world dies.
However long
He stretches his time out
The pains of more losses,
Will accompany him.
