There Are No Good Deaths Poem by Shalom Freedman

There Are No Good Deaths

THERE ARE NO GOOD DEATHS

There are no good deaths
And no good dyings-
Life is usually at its worse
Toward the end-

Prepare yourself old man
You are not going down to strains of glory-
You are probably going down
With pain and indignity and humiliation
Just like most of the rest.
