There Is A Silence Poem by Wakefield Mahon

There Is A Silence

There is a silence, then I hear her cry.
She questions me, but I can't say why
There is a mystery, why would I cause pain
To my beloved, with nothing to gain

There is a penance that tears at my soul
In my brokenness, I long to feel whole
There is a knocking, on the door to my heart
My LORD Jesus Christ will pick up the parts

There is forgiveness that covers all things
There is a silence... then I hear angels sing!
