Shy, confused and insecure
There she stood
Looking out into the world
Trying to change

Angry, ugly, clumsy, loud and moody
There she stood
Looking out into the world
Trying to change

Messy, selfish, disgusting and lazy
There she stood
Looking out into the world
Trying to change

Opinionated, never good enough, always wrong
There she stood
Looking out into the world
Trying to change


And...

Then suddenly she grew up
There she stood
Looking out into the world
Realising these were words
Coming from the people of the world
As THEY stood
Judging her
Criticizing her
Blaming her
Feeling burdened by her
Never happy with who she was
Or with who she wanted to become

So finally....
There she stood
Letting go of everyone
And their opinions/judgements of her..
And she became
'HER'
