There Was A Time Comments

A JESTER LAUGHING IN THE WIDE IMMENSE HEAVENS - As I was trying to adjust to the cosmic scope of these recent poems in general and this one in particular, I suddenly saw in my mind's eye the laughing face of Robin Williams, He was certainly a modern jester and very good at his role. Like some of Shakespeare's jester he sometimes used humor to reveal unwanted truths about our human failings. But his laughter was benign; the cosmic laughter in this poem signals the end of things, oblivion
