There's No Time For You Today Poem by david Vlody

There's No Time For You Today

I think I'm losing it a bit.

I'm falling, rather, drowning in thoughts of whether to try or not to reach the surface. I suddenly find that there's comfort at the bottom of this well. So, well, maybe I'll just stay here and sit.

They say the purpose of life is simply to live, but to me, that's a bit far from fact. Because I keep handing my enjoyment to a job in hopes that with interest, I'll get it all back.

But will I enjoy this abundance of paper, powered in my ripe old age? Or will I spend it all buying more time? That which I have now is the wealth I should love, as someday it will no longer be mine.

I would much rather be sat upon a sailboat with my head between same-colored boundaries. But a dollar is needed to go, and I just spent my last on some rest.

You see, there's only so many hours in today, and to hustle is to give them away. But to rest is much the same. Combine the two, you'll find none remain. Unless you're willing to spend some change to charge awake through hours which remain.

Until someday without worry, you no longer wear that chain that whispers in your ear, 'There's no time for you today.'
