These Cats Are Really People Poem by Derek Kuborn

These Cats Are Really People

I met a woman with wooden shoes.
Every time she took a step she made the ground move.
Her face was melting to liquid candle wax.
It seemed her time had come, but she could only laugh.
She could only laugh.
Haha Haha

I met a woman with paper skin.
It seemed the simplest breeze could blow her away.
Her breath smelled of the saltiest of waters.
I couldn't help but think that she could only die.
She could only die.
Haha Haha

She said there's a flood a coming, and you better beware.
Said to move up to the mountains; cat people wouldn't find us there
Said she'd come with me but the dirt was getting too old.
You better all get out of here before they destroy all you know.
