These Older People Than Old Me Poem by Shalom Freedman

These Older People Than Old Me

Rating: 5.0

These older people than old me
Put me to shame
They maintain themselves with dignity
They pretend they look alright
They are proud of what they have done in their lives
They make the best of whatever they have left
They do not kvetch and complain
But enjoy their lives as much as they can
They converse with ease
And still know how to laugh
They are not ashamed of themselves
And do not blame themselves for what they have not done
They put on the best show possible
They hide the hurt as much as they can
They enjoy their lives still
They put me to shame

So, this is true in all parts of the world. Everything written in the poem about 'These Older People' is a fact. This poem is a favourite now. Thanks. I quote: They converse with ease And still know how to laugh They put me to shame
