These Pictures Poem by Bella Ski

These Pictures

I found these pictures in my room
And the memories of when we were little began to bloom
Do you remember when I had blue eyes?
or playing those insane games and me beating all the guys?
How about the late night scary tales?
The ones that were told through those forest trails
Remember how we went outside early when the sun shone bright
and stayed out really late into the night?
We stared at the stars while laying on the cars
and picked at the grass while dreading the thought of upcoming class
Seeing these pictures made me smile
Cause I haven't seen you guys in a while.
There came a day when some moved away
and the other never again came out to play
the days got colder and we grew older
and now I look at these fixtures, seeing that we are no longer friends, nope we are now only pictures

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
When I was younger, we had a group of friends and one boy who was 2 years older than me, lets call him K, was the 'leader' of our friend group, he was also my best friend. Everyone looked up to him and he was always nice to me. Well the other day i found these pictures in my room of when we were all really little and like i said in my poem, memories began to bloom. Like how I once had blue eyes. Or when we had wrestling matches on the front lawn and although I was the only girl, I still beat most of the guys, besides K who was an actual wresler and my older brother who was twice my size at the time. Now all of us are older and I havent seen either any of them in a really long time. I am friends with 2 out of those 10 people who were in that friend group and it makes me pretty sad that now the only way I can see them is through pictures. So I juts thought I should write a poem about it
