They Asked 'why? ' Poem by Ishrat khan

They Asked 'why? '

They asked sun or moon? And why?
I said both cos I love the whole sky
The one shine during the day and the other at dark
They both bright no matter what

They asked ocean or sea? And why?
I said both cos they never get dry
The one flows and the other waves
They both don't stop no matter where sways

They asked rose or thorns? And why?
I said both cos I love their vibe
The one pricks and the other is aesthetic
They both live no matter how opposite

They asked dogs or human? And why?
I said dog but do not mind
The one is calming and the other is fraught
They are loyal when humans are not
