They Cut My Feathers When I Wanted To Fly Poem by Kumaraguru Anbu

They Cut My Feathers When I Wanted To Fly

falling from the sun
I was a ray; glittering on rain water
gloomy was my mood
I should have landed on a leaf
a leaf intertwined by a caterpillar
who could blossom to a Butterfly
or on a calf who was
just born and when his mother was
licking the amniotic fluid of him
It would have helped!
I'm trying to find out
who I'm in this huge world filled by
wishes unfulfilled
people living with unattainable goals
which they never tried to get
when I tried to fly
they amputated my wings
and threw me in a machine
that takes away feathers
before that they cut my throat when I shouted
I'm The God they were seeking
